Steve Beck

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Steve, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Left to hold his memory in their hearts are his wife Frances of 72 years, three sons, Lorne (Susan)

Howard (Darlene) and Stuart, grandchildren Rochelle, Micheal, Stacey, Riley, and Jarett, as well as four

great grandchildren, Taylor, Magnus, Haddlea and Alex.

The last of his family, Steve is predeceased by his parent’s Jo and Dora, brothers Pete and Tom, and

Sisters Anne and Stella.

Steve was born and raised in the Makaroff, MB area, He attended school in Makaroff where he met his

wife Frances and married in 1950. Steve farmed and did mechanic work as a young man, and enjoyed

playing guitar with a local band. In 1956 the family moved to The Pas where he worked as a mechanic

while building his own home. In 1970 the now family of five again moved to Benito where they operated

a service station until 1974. At this time, they relocated to Swan River where he worked for the Swan

Valley School Division as a Bus Mechanic and Shop Foreman until his retirement in 1991.

Steve’s passion in life was family and friends. He could always be found helping his children and

grandchildren build, fix, or create projects, with his vast knowledge of all trades. His sharp mind and

great sense of humor carried him through the many changes he experienced in his 95 years. Steve was a

man, who had infinite patience and kindness with children and animals, and was the voice of reason and

practicality in many situations. His absence leaves a massive hole in our hearts but the multitude of

memories will comfort his family always.

The family are forever grateful to the staff at the Benito Health Care Centre for the personal and

Compassionate care Steve received during his short stay.

In following with Steve’s wishes a private memorial service and interment will take place at a later date

In the Makaroff Cemetery and a private family service will take place.
