Viola Adeline Innis passed away April 17,2022 at the age of 95.
She was born December 14,1926 in the R.M. of Shellmouth, Mb. Her family moved to a farm south of Kenville where she attended Davidson school and the Kenville school.
After finishing school she was employed on a few farms doing house work. On April 16,1947 she married Bruce Innis in the Kenville United Church. They both worked for a farmer for about a year and then they purchased a farm where they raised their four sons.
In 1972 mom went to work at the Personnel Care Home. She retired from there in 1979. Bruce and Viola move to Swan River in 1996.
Due to failing health mom moved into the Personnel Care Home in 2014 where she remained until her passing.
Mom enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles. Mom grew a big garden every year not only vegetables but she loved her carnations and her evening scented stocks. Mom and Dad enjoyed square dancing and playing numerous card games.
Mourning her passing are sons; Leroy (Marian) Edmonton, Alberta; Mervyn (Audrey) Swan River, Manitoba; Robert (Karen) Orleans, Ontario. Grandchildren; Laurie (James); Derek; Jarod (Heather); Ryan (Rebecca); Madison; Jack; Blake. Great grandchildren; Morgan; Devon; Jorja; Hope; Adelyn; and Weston. Great Great Grandchild; Malcom. Sister in laws; Bernice; Julie; and Kay.
Viola was predeceased by her husband; Bruce, son Terry, her parents Jacob and Philipena Nerbas, brothers; Ben, Frank, Lloyd, sister in laws; Eva, Esther, Alice, Peggy and brother in laws; John, William, Charles, Dan, Joe.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Personnel Care Home for all the kindness and care extended during mom’s stay.
A funeral service was held from the Chapel of Swan Valley Funeral Services on May 27/2022 with Reverend Kathy Highmoor officiating. Internment followed in Birchwood Cemetery
