Junior was born in Dropmore, Manitoba in 1929 and attended Cropper Tops School near Bowsman, Manitoba.
He married the love of his life, Myrna (Colbert) on November 27, 1953 and they spent 66 loving years together. In 1964 Junior and Myrna bought a farm in the Swan Woody School District, southeast of Birch River. They spent many happy years there raising their family and farming until they retired and moved to Bowsman in 1979. Their home in Bowsman was the site of frequent family gatherings and Junior passed his time going for walks, working in his garden, and checking out the action at the curling rink. He loved to spend his summers camping at the lake surrounded by family and friends. In 2009 Junior and Myrna made a final move to Swan River.
Junior is survived by his wife, Myrna; brother Art of Winnipeg; children Hughie (Viola), Twila (Dale), Del (Rick), and Myles (Corey); 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Torey, Tara, Riley, Troy, David, Travis, Trista, and Aaron, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He loved his wife and family, his team of horses Buck and Billy, and life on the farm. He was a wonderful dancer and was never happier than when he was kicking up his heels to a good ol’ two-step.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service for family will be held.
In lieu of flowers donations in Junior’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Bowsman Cemetery.
