Walter Kutynec

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Kutynec of Renwer, Manitoba, on August 9, 2025,

at the age of 77.

Walter was born on March 5, 1948, to Anna (Hrychan) and Kiryl Kutynec, both born in Datcovichi Rovna, Poland. The youngest of six children, he was predeceased by sisters Nellie and Mary and infant brother. Left to mourn are brothers William, Archie and sister Lydia.

A lifelong farmer in Renwer, Walter took pride in working the land, especially the challenge of breaking new ground. He loved machinery of all kinds and could spend hours talking about the work that shaped his days. Walter shared many years of marriage with his wife, Gloria (Hrabarchuk), and together they raised four children, Trent, Kurt, Jeff, and Christy (Kabatoff).

Known lovingly as “Gido,” Walter’s greatest joy came from his grandchildren, Kayla, Alexandra, Tai, Maddesyn, Loclyn, and Caydince, as well as his great-grandchild Ryder, with another on the way.

Walter believed in doing things the right way, with care and pride, and passed that work ethic to his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when bringing family together and welcomed friends, old and new, into his life with open arms.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews, who will remember him with love. His hands shaped the farm, his heart shaped his family, and both will carry his mark forever.
