William Adam Andrusiak

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our uncle, and brother, Bill Andrusiak on November 29th, 2024, at the Swan Valley Health Centre at the age of 83.

Bill was born on January 12th, 1941, to John and Dorothy Andrusiak on the family farm in the Sunny Isle District North of Pelly, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of four children. Bill attended Sunny Isle School, where he received a grade eight education. He was very involved in the daily activities on the family farm. He continued to work on the farm and eventually took over the operation from his father, and at the same time acquired additional land nearby. 

In 1971, Bill and his parents left the farm and moved to Swan River, MB.  During this time, Bill supplemented the farming activities by working in the road construction industry. Later in life, Bill sold the farm and worked part time in the cleaning and maintenance of several Swan River, MB businesses before finally retiring.

Bill will be remembered as having a great sense of humour, and always being available to lend a helping hand to family, and friends. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a tremendous cook, enjoyed having coffee with friends, and spent much time and care tending to his garden that was a source of pride. His faithful dog Daisy was his loyal companion for many years before her passing and was always by his side when they went for a ride to the farm, or to check out the crops in the surrounding communities. Bill had two special neighbors Alice and Willetta, that were just like family and assisted Bill for the past few years.

Bill is predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy, his sister Frances. He is survived by a brother Peter, several nephews and nieces Marlene (Nick) Starenky of Calgary, AB; Wayne (Deborah) Kowalevsky of Calgary, AB; Debbie (Duane) Keeler of Airdrie, AB, and Randy (Jennifer) Andrusiak of Dugald, MB. Plus, several grand nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Steven & David Starenky, Adam Keeler, Rick Peterson, Rick Krochak and Randy Andrusiak. Honorary pallbearers are Mervin Krochak, and Terry Schlosser.
