Bill grew up in the RM of Livingston and completed high school in Benito Mb. He then moved to Winnipeg to continue his education and began working with the government and credit unions. Bill’s work with the government included starting up COOP fisheries up north which he loved to discuss. His work also took him overseas with his family which instilled the love of travel in his children who continue to travel the world. Bill looked forward to the stories of their travels and adventures. When Bill retired he owned the St. Norbert Hotel and then owned Billy’s Corner Bar in Headingly. He looked forward to each new customer that he could chat with and quickly have them become a friend. Bill loved the people he met and would go out of the way to help anyone.
Bill and Charity moved back to the RM of Livingston in December 2004 where they lived on the farm until they moved to Benito a few years later. Bill moved his family back to assist his brother Mike on the farm and enjoy his retirement years back where he started. Bill loved the area and took family on local tours every time they visited, if they had seen it before or not. He enjoyed his years working the fields and cattle with Mike and when he was able to work with other local farmers during seeding and harvest. He also found time to be on the Benito Daycare board of directors and take part in the Benito Rec Centre. He loved to watch the Benito Vesselli Dancers and his son Dean dance Ukrainian dance for several years. Bill never missed a dance competition or school event.
Bill was very proud of all his children and loved to brag to anyone that would listen to his chatter. Bill loved to chatter with anyone that would stop in front of the house or be at the post office.
In the last three years we took fishing trips at Dauphin Lake which he looked forward to with Joyce and Tim and our day trips in the area for fishing with Rod and Sally. He loved to catch and eat the fish but would never clean the fish.
Bill will be missed by family and friends but no one more than his wife. Love you today, tomorrow and forever.
