On August 31st, 2022, Bill Kitchen passed away at the Swan Valley Health Centre in Swan River, MB at the age of 92. Bill was born on October 11, 1929, to William Henry and Ruth Kitchen in Hardesty, AB. In 1953 Bill met the love of his life Eleanor Rathgeber and they married on October 29, 1955, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Yorkton, SK. Bill and Eleanor were blessed with 2 daughters, Diane, and Shelley. Bill worked on the railroad for a few years before he started at the Co-op in Yorkton as a butcher in 1962. Then Deloraine, MB, then moved to Brandon, MB. All with the Co-op. From there Bill moved his family to Swan River in 1971. He worked at the Swan Valley Co-op until he retired in 1991. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, fishing, and golfing. He had several bowling and golfing trophies to prove it! Bill and Eleanor opened their home to foster children. Bill was a loving and caring man. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Shelley Petelski (Larry Therrien), grand-children Justin Petelski (Roxanne), Jonathon Petelski (Jennifer), Alisha Petelski, and Ross Minish (Melanie), and great grand-children Tyler and Jayden Petelski, Chicago Petelski, Hunter Munro and TJ Rogers, and Celina, Connor, and Kelsey Minish. He was pre-deceased by his parents Ruth and Bill Kitchen Sr., sisters Lovina and Faye, wife Eleanor, and daughter Diane. We love you dad.
