Yvonne Walker

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Alice Walker on June 9, 2022, at the age of 93 years.

Yvonne was born on May 21, 1929, to Albert and Clara (Rowatt) Dewitt in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba.
As a young woman Mum worked at Williamson’s Drug Store until becoming a wife and housekeeper. Mum enjoyed her home and spending time in the garden, that’s where she was happy. Mum and Dad took many trips, but it was always hard to get her from her home.

Yvonne is survived by son Bob, Lois and grandson Duston of Swan River, Manitoba, son Gordon, Tracy and grandson Hunter of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mum is also survived by sister Rosamay  Martinson of Calgary, Alberta.

Yvonne is predeceased by the love of her life Richard “Dick”, parents Albert and Clara, brothers John, Clark, Mel, Goldie, Kenny, Alfred, George, and sister Doreen.

When Dad would get into a little trouble from time to time, he would often say “Your mother sure gave me the gears”. Well Mum go give him the gears, it will make him happy.

To the staff at the Lodge, thank you for looking after Mum all these years, you all did an excellent job, the time she was there.

In keeping with Mum's wishes, a Private Family service was held.
