With heavy hearts, the family of Elsie Kreshewski announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Baba) and great grandmother on December 8, 2017 in Swan River, Manitoba.
Elsie was born in Cowan on October 24, 1940. She attended Cowan School. Elsie married Alex Kreshewski on July 12, 1957. Elsie and her family moved to Swan River in 1966 where she lived until her passing.
Elsie worked as a clerk at Stylerite and The Met store, as well as Anne’s Style Shoppe where she worked as a clerk and seamstress. Elsie was a Mary Kay Cosmetic Consultant for approximately twenty-five years.
Elsie was a former member of the Swan River Ladies Curling Club as well as Sweet Adelines. She was an active member of the All Saints Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was an eager volunteer, helping with fundraisers for the church, curling club and the Swan Valley Lodge.
Gardening was her passion. She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. She loved camping and travelling, enjoyed many trips to various locations with Alex and as well her very dear friend Bev. Family was very important to Elsie as were her heritage and culture. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always tried hard to maintain and strengthen family relationships, and was always eager to attend the next family event or reunion. Her door was always open to her family and friends, and the coffee pot was always on.
Left to mourn are her husband, Alex; children, Cindy (Don) Bobick, Connie (Brent) Gray, Richard (Joan) Kreshewski; grandchildren, Nicole (Elvis), Alisa, Shayla (Chad), Clayton (Britt), Amanda, Stacy (Scott), Keera (Cramer), Mikayla; great grandchildren, Damian, Abby, Jacob, Falon, Lane, Brinn, Brianna, Avery, Lincoln; aunt, Stella Nash, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Jean Hlady; her brother, Metro, and infant twin brothers.
We will miss her dearly and she will forever be in our hearts.
